Marc Jacobs, a famous American fashion designer, was born on April 9, 1963, in New York City. He started his fashion career when he was just 15 years old working as a stock boy at the upscale clothing boutique Charivari in New York City. This early exposure to the fashion world helped shape his future as a renowned designer. After attending the High School of Art and Design, he later studied at the prestigious Parsons School of Design. In 1984, he won the Perry Ellis Golden Thimble Award for his graduation collection. In 1986, Jacobs launched his eponymous fashion label, and in 1987, he became the youngest designer to win the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent. In 1992, he introduced his iconic grunge collection for Perry Ellis, which led to his dismissal from the company but also solidified his status as a groundbreaking designer. In 1997, Jacobs became the creative director of Louis Vuitton, where he introduced ready-to-wear collections and collaborated with artists like Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami. As the creative director of Louis Vuitton from 1997 to 2013, he transformed the brand into a global fashion powerhouse. Additionally, his eponymous label has been influential in shaping contemporary fashion trends. Throughout his career, Jacobs became known for his eclectic and innovative designs, often blending streetwear with high fashion.
