He initially pursued a career in medicine before getting his foot in the door of the fashion industry. He studied medicine at the University of Milan for two years but later realized his true passion was in fashion. This change in career path ultimately led him to establish his iconic brand, Armani. Armani started off as a window dresser and then worked as a menswear designer for Nino Cerruti. In 1975, he founded his own company, Giorgio Armani S.p.A., and launched his first revolutionary menswear collection that introduced the deconstructed suit, which featured a more relaxed fit and softer fabrics, providing comfort and elegance. Later, he introduced a women's line in 1976. In the 1980s, Armani popularized power dressing, offering women stylish, tailored suits that exuded confidence and professionalism. Armani became known for his elegant, minimalist designs and revolutionizing the fashion industry with his unstructured jackets. Also, he was known was one of the most popular fashion designers among celebrities who loved to wear dresses and suits made by the Armani house for red carpet events. The Armani brand successfully expanded via various lines such as Emporio Armani, Armani Exchange, and Armani Casa, catering to different market segments and needs.
