Waterfalls Level 10

Iguazú Falls is a stunning natural wonder located on the border of Argentina and Brazil. The falls stretch over 1.7 miles (2.7 km) wide and reach heights of up to 269 feet (82 meters). Iguazú Falls consists of approximately 275 individual waterfalls and cascades. The average flow rate is around 1,500 cubic meters per second, but it can reach up to 12,750 cubic meters per second during the rainy season. Both the Argentine and Brazilian sides of the falls are designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The falls are protected by two national parks - Iguazú National Park in Argentina and Iguaçu National Park in Brazil. The largest and most impressive waterfall within the system is called the Devil's Throat (Garganta del Diablo), which is a U-shaped, 490 feet (150 meters) wide and 2,300 feet (700 meters) long chasm. Iguazú Falls is a popular tourist destination, attracting millions of visitors each year. There are walking trails, boat tours, and helicopter rides available for visitors to explore and enjoy the falls. The name "Iguazú" comes from the indigenous Guarani language, meaning "big water."
